Welcome to ‘Along the Village Green‘ — a blog inspired by the absence of any real, reliable news source for the community of Chepachet and villages of northwestern RI. Over the last few years, without a reliable newspaper, the villages have become hotbeds of rumor and innuendo squelching many opportunities for growth and progress. While I am not so arrogant to believe I alone can solve that problem myself, I do believe the Internet, in the free control of the public, is a powerful and natural tool to begin to address modern communication breakdown.
This blog also allows me the opportunity to return to my roots as a columnist, reporter, creative writer and at times — a satirist. This blog will attempt to bring you up-to-date happenings in our area through news posts, commentary, and photos — irreverant or otherwise. Everyone is welcome to post comments or tell me off.
The blog title ‘Along the Village Green‘ is inspired by the old Kinks song, “The Village Green Preservation Society.”
Preserving the old ways from being abused.
